About the author

The author, born in Asheboro, North Carolina, 1949, was born into a family of cotton pickers. During his growing-up years, the author was a troubled youth --- constantly under peer pressure and constantly in trouble. He dropped out of school at 16 years old and came to Philadelphia, where he was introduced into a new, advanced world.

In this new realm, the author became a hoodlum, among many other things. After ten years of troubled times anti through trials and tribulations the author experienced a conversion. I started a legal business in Philadelphia. Through his conversion, the author met many people who supported him in some way toward his newfound direction in life, and finally, met the Lord, Jesus and the Catholic Church. After 20 years of being a faithful follower of Christ in the Catholic Faith and Religion, I was called to my personal vocation by Jesus Christ as a Permanent Deacon in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

The author was ordained in 2001 and assigned to Immaculate Conception Church in Cerniaiitown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the Miraculous Medal Shrine. His ministry is working with young people, senior citizens and the infirmed parishioners. The author also gives speeches about his conversion and to young people through the city and suburbs of Philadelphia by various parishes and organizations.

After becoming a Permanent Deacon, the author studied at the St. Charles Seminary for four more years. He received an award as a Certified Religion Teacher from the Vatican in Rome.
